The SensWear DRV2605 haptic daughter board enables programmable tactile feedback and silent notification capabilities within the SensWear modular wearable platform. Built around the DRV2605 haptic driver, this module supports precise control of vibration motors and linear resonant actuators (LRAs), allowing developers to create rich and expressive touch-based feedback directly on wearable form factors. It connects seamlessly to the SensWear mainboard via I²C for synchronized control alongside sensing and interaction modules.
This daughter board enables a wide range of use cases including silent notifications, biofeedback cues, navigation guidance, alerts, and user interaction feedback. In health and research applications, it can be used for closed-loop biofeedback systems, such as heart-rate or stress-based feedback, posture and activity reminders, and behavioral nudging. When combined with physiological sensors, the module enables real-time feedback driven by AI models or sensing pipelines.
Beyond traditional notifications, the DRV2605 module supports advanced experimental applications such as sensory substitution, haptic communication, accessibility interfaces, and immersive human–machine interaction research. Its programmable waveform library and precise control make it suitable for designing nuanced tactile experiences across different wearable form factors.
Compact and energy-efficient, the DRV2605 haptic daughter board expands the SensWear ecosystem with expressive tactile output, enabling next-generation interactive, assistive, and research-oriented wearable applications.
